  1. A test of pancreatic exocrine function in which orally administered bentiromide is cleaved by chymotrypsin within the lumen of the small intestine, releasing p-aminobenzoic acid. Diminished urinary excretion of p-aminobenzoic acid may indicate pancreatic insufficiency.
