A small strip of land between Egypt (see also Egypt), Israel, and the Mediterranean Sea. Israel occupied it during the Six-Day War. Populated by Israelis and stateless Palestinians, it has been one of the scenes of the intifada. Arabs see it as part of a future Palestinian state.
