mansonelliasis [măn′sə-nĕl-ī′ə-sĭs] n.

1. Infection with a species of filarial worms of the genus Mansonella, transmitted by biting midges of the genus Culicoides; the adult worms live in the serous cavities, especially the peritoneal cavity, in mesenteric and perivisceral adipose tissue, and in the skin.
